Info:Surreal is born in Sacramento California. He grew up surrounded by music: Jazz, soul, rock and reggae. It wasn't until he moved to Tampa, Florida in 1984, that he found his love for hiphop.

Skills
After hearing Eric B and Rakim's "Microphone Friend" he found his real passion, emceeing. Perfecting his skills over the years by writing poetry and rhymes he recorded his first offical song, "Art of illusion", in 1994.

Army
In 1997 Surreal joined the army, where he met a producer by the name of "Muko," who began to show him the ropes of production. After 3 years in the army Surreal returned home to Tampa, where he became active in the local battle scene.

Helix
Shortly afterwards he formed "Double Helix" with Synapse 9 and DJ Balance. The group released a 12 inch record in 2002 followed closely by their full length LP "Soundpr%f".

Debut Album
After the completion of "Soundpr%f" Surreal started working on his solo effort "Godspeed". He draws from many spiritual and personal experiences creating a mosiac of sound and life.

DJ Balance
DJ Balance also known as Bizcuts has deejayed many shows and residencies, including the Got Skills battles series (1 to 5), KRS One, Mars Ill, Mr Complex and many others. He is also known for bringing his decks out to the parks and spending the day with breakers and other DJs.

Florida
In 1999, after the DJ had made many guest appearances on 88.5 WMNF community Radio Florida, Balance hosted his own show called the "Turntablist Broadcast".

Show
In June of 2001 DJ Balance joined the crew Double Helix with Surreal and Synapse9 and their first show was Got Skills in December of 2001. Since then, they released the album "Soundproof" on Peripheral Records. Currently, DJ Balance is working with the Spitkickers.

HipHop Is Music
In 2006 Surreal's album Futureclassic is re-released through Braille's label HipHop Is Music.

Geneva Project
During the Ohmega Watts tour Surreal, Ohmega, Braille and DJ Idull recorded "4 Days In Geneva". The album was released in Japan in May 2007.

Sound Providers
Other projects Surreal has worked on is a joint venture called "Surreal and the Sound Providers". The Sound Providers are a hip hop duo and have been active since 1998, but they started out as a trio: Soulo, Jason Skills and Profile. The latter pursued a solo career and left the group. In 2006 Surreal made a single and full length album entitled "True Indeed" with this crew.

Featuring
The MC is also featured on Ohmega Watts' single No Delay (2006).

New Projects
In an interview on Yesyesyall.org April 2008 the producer Dert stated to be working on an abum with Surreal. The project is called: "Today's the Day".
