United States at the age of 5, from South America. His
parents didn’t have much money, so they lived in the hood
for along time.
Example
G-Notes ended up on the wrong track, because what he saw
around him: "I grew up seeing everything the world had to
offer. So my mentality was I need to be like that or I might
just die in these streets."
Hip Hop
He started to rap at the age of 14 years old, around the
time he got out of jail. G-Notes grew up listening to rap.
Hip hop taught him how to speak English, because he would
memorize the words. But hip hop also had another influence
on him, as he says "so I thought to myself, if these cats
express the way they feel over a hot track, why can’t I". So
G-Notes started to write, and try to express what he felt
over a beat.
One Way
Still he needed to get things straight as he states: "my
life wasn't good at all". Then G-Notes gets invited to a
holy hip hop concert. One of the bands performing was 1-Way.
A group DJ Morphiziz is part of. This made a change "They
talked to me about Christ, and I gave my life from there and
never looked back".
Album
His first album "Life, Situations & Stories Volume 1" is
released by Underground Blaze in 2005. G-Notes sophomore
album is entitled "Bright Lights Magic City", which got
released in 2009. |
