Info:	Don Baker also known as Dert is producer of the Tunnel Rats and worked with artists like Mars ILL, Pigeon John, LMNO and others. Dert is from West Covina in California. Footsoldiers Dert, Macho, Propaganda and Raphi from the Tunnel Rats are also part of the crew Footsoldiers. They released their album "Live This" on Antagonist Records, October 31st, 2006. The Footsoldiers project consists of christians and non-christians. Production Credits Dert produced KRS One's album called "Life" released on June 13th, 2006 through Antagonist Records with Dax Reynosa (LPG). Albums He released his first solo album called "Fledgling : A Beat Tape by Dert" in 2004. The music is instrumental only. And Dert continued his love for electronic beats on the album "The Short List", which is released on Illect/Illectronica in 2008. Shelved albums Initially the Blackberd album was scheduled for release in 2006, but Dert chose to start a new project called "The Short List". As the producer states "Blackberd was pretty slow, dark and depressing and I don't think heads are ready for that yet. Short List is [...] more upbeat and mid tempo and it's a much more cohesive, focused project." Another record "Next In Line" (2008) with rapper LMNO is partly released on LMNO's "Let'eMkNOw" (2008). Mixtapes The mixtape "Sometimes I Rhyme Slow" is released in March 2006 and features artists like Common, Nas and Kanye West. The hip hop songs are mixed with the acoustic guitar tracks from Jose Gonzalez' album "Veneer" (2005). The mixtape receives a follow up in the release "In My Nature : A Beat Tape by Dert" (2007). The instrumental album is based upon Jose Gonzalez sophomore record "In Our Nature" (2007). Jose Gonzalez is a successful folk artist from Sweden. His parents were immigrants of Argentinia. Instrumentals The year 2006 is also the release of another Dert' mixtape, called "The Seattle Situation : Volume One" and contains Tunnelrat Instrumentals from 2002-2004. Pink Floyd Album Dert released the Pink Floyd inspired instrumental album "The Westside of the Moon" under the name Dert Floyd in July 2007. Compilations The producer is featured on the compilation: - We Are We : Yes Yes Y'all : One Year Anniversary Celebration: Dert - Wishing (2008). New Projects In an interview on Yesyesyall.org April 2008 Dert stated to be working on an abum with rapper Surreal and singer Caroline Furoyen from Norway. The band is called: "Today's the Day". The albumtitle is yet to be announced. New Beat Tape A new beat tape was announced in July 2008, this would be a continuation on the Dert Floyd theme. The album was called "Flight to Ganymede," but is cancelled in October 2008. a On April 10th, 2009 a new Dert Floyd project is announced "My Great Depression" for 2009.
