The rapper Evident was formerly known as Proph and Obvious
was known as Blud.
History
The group is formed in 1995. But has had different names in
the past, before settling down with "Unknown Project".
Plus the line up has changed quite some times. There were
many set backs, members coming and going, but Evident and
Obvious sticked through it, stayed strong and God blessed
them to meet A.G.E. of Preachaz In Tha Hood.
A.G.E. & Tre-9
A.G.E. helped Evident and Obvious get to know about the
industry and introduced them to others in the holy hiphop
industry. Then one day in December of 2003, Evident and
Obvious first got a CD of Tre-9, and contacted him. Right
then is when God opened the door. Tre-9 came to Taos, New
Mexico and did a show with Unknown Project.
Name
In 2004, Unknown Project was invited to the Houston Holy
hiphop Awards show to perform. They performed alongside IDOL
King, Urban D., Spec, J Xavier, and many more. It was in
2000 when Evident and Obvious just decided, along
with prayer, to be a duo known as Unknown Project. The name
Unknown Project is from Jeremiah 33:3, which means they're
going to bring that message to the people who are calling to
God, and show them things, which they do not know.
Outreach
Unknown Project is also part of a local youth outreach
called Taos Evangelical Youth Commission (T.E.Y.C.), which
is held four times a year. This outreach is to help keeps
kids, teenagers, and young adults off of the party life and
give them a positive and Christ-centered atmosphere, filled
with concerts featuring holy hip hop artists, rock artists,
comedians, back to school activities, and many more.
Stage
Unknown Project has shared the stage with Tre-9, Col'cutz,
A.G.E. of Preachas In The Hood, Corey Clark a.k.a. Double C
Loc, Carlos-Alberto of Kandle, Testimony. Unknown Project
also toured with A.G.E. and Carlos-Alberto.
EP
Unknown Project has a 3 song EP released featuring tracks
produced by Cy in 2003.

They are currently working to release there selftitled debut
album featuring music produced by A.G.E., Tony Stone, Cy,
and Unknown Project's own Obvious (illa Boy Productions). |
