| Info: | Jonek from Edmonton, Alberta became hooked on hip hop in
Poland in 1999. He is is born and raised in Canada. But
lived in Poland from 1992 to 1999.

That's where the MC met his wife, and got into hip hop. The
first hip hop he listened to was Polish, and so Jonek wrote
his first rhymes in Polish. He moved back to Canada to
start high school in 1999. This was also the year he started
writing English raps.
Nominations:
Jonek received a nomination at the 29th Annual Covenant
Awards 2007 of the Gospel Music Association Canada (GMA)
for:
- Rap/Hip Hop Song Of The Year: The Music
- Rap/Hip Hop Album Of The Year: Inukshuk : Pointing In The

His first recording was a mixtape in 2003. The MC released
his debut album entitled "Inukshuk" in August 2006.
Title
Jonek states about the title of his debut album: "An
Inukshuk is a "rock person", that Inuit people used to
place in areas lacking landmarks. They served a few
purposes, but mainly were used to point to things like good
hunting, shelter, etc. The album concept is exactly that:
standing as a landmark to point people in the right
