| Releases: | [The Big Picture] [Open Book] [Da' T.R.U.T.H. & Friends Live! (DVD)] [The Faith] [Moment Of Truth] [Who Is The Truth EP] | | Lyrics: | Found 46 lyrics at BusyR.com Lyrics Archive. | | Info: | Emanuel Lee Lambert is Da Truth. Da Truth's debut album was
Moment Of Truth released in 2004. He quickly returned with a
follow up called The Faith in 2005. His first recording is
the EP Who Is The Truth (2003).

Five
Better known to his family and friends as Manny, Da'
T.R.U.T.H. was presented the Gospel at the age of five when
he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. As a teen,
he was a talented drummer who listened to contemporary
Christian music. A self-described ?old soul,? he never found
rap music appealing, though he was attracted to aspects of
the culture.

No Interest
I had no interest in rap music. As a matter of fact, I was
disenchanted with the whole idea of rap, says Da' T.R.U.T.H.
Providence would have it that one day he and his friend
Tyrone (Twyse) began free-styling for fun when he discovered
that he actually possessed a talent for rhyming.

Minister
Da' T.R.U.T.H. co-founded the Christian Hip Hop group NIV
and at the age of 19 he acquired the moniker of T.R.U.T.H.,
launching his ministry as an urban missionary.
The young man who fell in love with the hip hop culture is
now seeing that love requited. The graduate of Philadelphia
Biblical University and The Institute of Jewish Studies has
ministered for audiences of over 100,000+ at events such as
Creation Fest.

Early Success
Even before the 2004 release of his first album, he enjoyed
a record-breaking eighteen month stint at #1 on MP3.com?s
Christian Hip Hop chart. That acclaim, coupled with his
standout appearances on Out of Eden's "Spirit Moves Remix"
and The Cross Movement's smash single "The Light", paved the
way for him to become the fastest-selling, solo christian
hip hop artist with the release of his debut album Moment of
Truth.

Magazines
Currently, he is featured on two top-10 singles of the Radio
and Records (R&R) Christian Rhythmic Chart label-mates The
Ambassador's "Feels Good" (#2) and Flame's "LADIES" (#4).
He's been mentioned in both Vibe and The Source magazines
and profiled in New Man magazine and a myriad of christian
and gospel media outlets.

Television
His television appearances include BET's Lift Every Voice,
INSP's Steelroots and Mixx Master's Lounge, and Word
Network's Bobby Jones Gospel. He is also a featured artist
in "Holy Hip Hop : The Movie" the urban Christian film
produced and edited by Christopher "Play" Martin released on
Maverick Entertainment Group's Spirit label in 2006.

MTV
Da TRUTH performed at a party at the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame and Museum on August 26th, 2007 celebrating the 16th
birthday of the daughter of a local megachurch pastor:
Chanae, the daughter of the Rev. R.A. Vernon, pastor of The
Word Church in Warrensville Heights. The celebration is
filmed for MTV's hit reality show "My Super Sweet 16". "I
wanted everybody to know Christian girls can have fun,"
Chanae Vernon said. "It's not about the money. It's not
about the flashy stuff."

Sophomore Album
Inspired by Cassie and Rachel, the two young ladies martyred
at the Columbine shooting in 1999, his sophomore album is
entitled "The Faith". In it, Da' T.R.U.T.H. sets out to
expose what he terms as the hyper-individualism pervasive in
the American church.

The Truth versus I
The MC states: In Scripture, the emphasis is on "the" faith
not merely "a" faith. Here, it is all about "a" personal
faith which has been relegated to a means to personal
comfort. Whereas, "the" faith is a common body of beliefs
that govern how we think, our influence and how we behave.
However, we've become so "I" centered that it has become
common to ignore what God has said to all of us and biblical
absolute truth has been obscured. The Faith is his lyrical
epistle purposed to bring this back into focus.

Stellar Awards
His sophomore album "The Faith" has won a 2007 Stellar Award
in the "Rap/Hip Hop Gospel CD of the Year" category.
His third album "Open Book" (2007) won in the same category
Rap/Hip Hop Gospel CD of the Year at the 24th Annual Stellar
Awards 2009.

Nominations: Grammy
Another nomination was received for the prestigious 50th
Annual Grammy Awards 2008 in the category Best Rock Or Rap
Gospel Album for the record: "Open Book" (2007).

Nominations: GMA
Da TRUTH is nominated in the category "Rap/Hip Hop Recorded
Song of the Year" for "Who Am I?" of the album "Open Book"
(2007) at the 39th Annual GMA Dove Awards, the award
ceremony is held on April 23rd, 2008.

Awards: GMCVA
In February 2008 Da TRUTH wins the Gospel Music Channel
Video Award (GMCVA) for his Grammy nominated, "Who Am I?"
music video. The video won in the hip-hop category.

DVD

Impact 2006 in Atlanta for the release of his DVD "Da' TRUTH
& Friends LIVE!". Together with performances of Trip Lee,
JR, Tye Tribbett, Cross Movement and Flame.

Albums
His most recent album is the release of "The Big Picture" in
2009.

Sabbatical
In the same year that artist Ambassador had to take leave
from his musical career Da Truth announces on November 3rd,
2009 a sabbatical:

An apology from Emanuel L. Lambert Jr. - Da TRUTH
"In light of a moral indescretion in my personal life, I
will be taking a sabbatical from music ministry and teaching
upon fulfilling my current commitments to work closely with
my pastor, church and restoration team. I have repented
first to God and then to my wife and family. It is my prayer
that my family, supporters and the brethren in Christ will
collectively be able to forgive me. In the days ahead, my
family and I will be taking the appropriate steps necessary
to heal and regroup together as a unit. I prayerfull ask
that our privacy be respected at this time.

I ask for your forgiveness as I work towards reconciliation.
My greatest hope is that my failures and short comings are
seen for what they are -- MY failings and not a reflection
of the God that I proclaim. Despite my falling short, the
resurrection and life changing power of the cross remains
the same.

While I never imagined myself ever being here, I humbly ask
that you lift my family and me up in prayer for the wisdom,
healing and restoration we need. I look forward to the day
when I will stand before you again, while living a life that
reflects the power of the glorious gospel." - Emanuel L.
